Health & Safety Policies


All organisations must have a dedicated policy which covers responsibilities and duties of employers and employees under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.

By working with employers and consulting employees, Effective Safety Training develops the policy to not only cover the requirements of the law, but to incorporate the specific needs of the company.


When writing a Health and Safety Policy, the objectives are:

- To promote standards of safety, health and welfare, compliant with all relevant legislation

- To develop health and safety awareness and responsibility among all employees

- To encourage full and effective consultation on all health and safety matters

- To maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all employees


However, setting out a policy is not the end of the matter. If the policy is to be effective, everyone has to support it and make it work in practice.
